Extend provides two different types of product protection: Base coverage and Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) Plans- allowing you to utilize the best fit for your store.
Base vs. ADH: Coverage Types
- Base coverage protects against mechanical or electrical failure of a product during normal use or due to a power surge.
- ADH plans provide base coverage and covers damage to a product due to accidents such as drops or spills.
Base vs ADH: Coverage Period
- Base plans begin coverage at the end of the original manufacturer’s warranty period.
- ADH plans begin on the date of purchase by covering accident protection only, and then provides base coverage as well as accident protection upon the end of the manufacturer’s warranty.
What if I Forget Whether my Store Provides ADH or Base Plans?
No problem! You can easily check this on the Plan Details page or confirm the coverage type of a plan by examining the Plan ID.
- Plan IDs where the first letter is A are ADH Plans.
- Plan IDs where the first letter is B are Base Plans.
